A Survey on Yogic Posture Recognition

Yoga has been a great form of physical activity and one the promising applications in personal health care. Several studies prove that yoga is used as treatments for cancer, musculoskeletal disorder, depression, Parkinson’s disease, respiratory heart diseases. In yoga, body should be mechanically aligned with some effort on muscles, ligaments, joints optimal posture. Postural-based increases flexibility, energy, overall brain reduces stress, blood pressure, back pain. Body Postural Alignment very important aspect while performing yogic asanas. Many asanas including uttanasana, kurmasana, ustrasana, dhanurasana, require bending forward or backward, if are performed incorrectly, strain joints, backbone can result, which cause problems hip joints. Hence it vital to monitor correct poses different posture prediction automatic movement analysis now possible because advancements computer vision algorithms sensors. This research investigates thorough identification systems using vision, machine learning, deep learning techniques.
